Friendship- a ship on which two true hearts sail together, is a rarest thing in the world. We have heard and read a proverbial truth: A friend in need is a friend in deed. A friend who helps you at the time of your need, get you through rough patches of life is a true, reliable, honest and real friend. Friends are the most important part of one’s life. We meet several people in life and our dealings with them are quite pleasant but they are not friends. They are our only acquaintances. We are always unable to distinct between a good friend and an acquaintance. An acquaintance and a friend is akin to some extent in certain spheres but there is a lot of differences between them. Both would shake hands with you when you come across them. But the grip of a real friend is always strong. Both would pass smile at your victory but friend’s smile always releases the rays of joy and elation. A good friend’s meeting with you gives you a new vision and confidence and makes an indelible imprint onto your heart. The light of his smile awakens you from the slumber of falsehood and fabrication. A good friend has a host of virtues.
Now, let me tell you a story of a good friend.
There lived a man in a forest with his wife and two children. He did not work to earn his livelihood. Only hunting was his work to satiate his and his family’s hunger. After killing the animal, he cooked its meat and ate satisfyingly. Whenever someone came to forest for the purpose of hunting, he tended to help him and fetched money from him. His wife and children too enjoyed the feast of meat. When they people went back, they thanked the jungle man. He lived his glorious life in jungle.
One day, a gentleman with his pet dog visited jungle, a camera slung over his shoulder, asked the jungle man to help him to locate some rare of the rarest mammals whose names the jungle man had not heard so far. He accompanied him in the light of hope getting huge money. The man with a dog took some snapshots with the help of jungle man and at evening, he rushed back. The jungle man was angry as it was the first someone in the jungle who had offered him nothing. Not even a penny except for a silent smile and a poor handshake. The jungle man repented as he had wasted his precious day with him. No doubt, his children were happy with gentleman’s kids.
A week later, the same gentleman again came into jungle in a open jeep for safari. He again approached the jungle man and begged him to help him finding some more exclusive mammals. The jungle man who hated to join his company frankly demanded for money, the gentleman refused. The jungle man got furious and attacked onto his head. The gentleman did not react. There grow a mound of wound onto his head. He alone hurried into jungle, took some snapshots exclusively and rushed back thanking the jungle man although he had not helped him a bit. The jungle man shrugged his shoulders in astonishment and smiled gravely at his odd behavior. At the time of his departure, the gentleman begged the jungle man to stop killing the animals.
"Why? Why" The jungle man asked cryingly. The gentleman answered him that he wanted at least one person to improve in his life and he might be jungle man. The jungle man laughed craftily.
A month later, the same gentleman toured thrice in jungle to have some snapshots. This time, he did not ask the jungle man to help him rather he begged him to stop the killing and eating meat. The jungle man was so furious to see him and listen to his advice he could not stop himself attacking on him with his iron rod. As the iron hit the man, blood in flood began to creep onto the ground like a cobra. The gentleman did not get nervous. He took his towel from his vehicle and tied it tightly onto his head and smiled thankfully.
Because of gentleman’s decent behavior, the jungle man was so depressed; he attacked onto his own head with his own iron rod. It struck the gentleman. He carried him to city hospital where a surgery was done. After some day, when the jungle man regained his health, gentleman gave him one thousand dollars. The jungle man astonished. The gentleman again begged him to stop the killing in jungle.
